Product Designer & UX Systems Thinker
Pablo Contreras
I design digital products that help people work with more clarity, confidence, and efficiency. My practice blends UX strategy, systems thinking, and product-driven collaboration across enterprise and consumer environments.
I focus on translating complex requirements into scalable, intuitive product experiences that support real workflows and align cross-functional teams.
About Me
I'm a product designer with 10+ years of experience building digital products across enterprise and consumer environments. My work centers on UX strategy, scalable systems, and the structures that make complex products feel coherent and usable.
Alongside my industry practice, I've spent the past five years as a design professor, teaching product design, communication design, and the foundations that connect design to business, technology, and real-world decision-making.
How I Work
I connect research, systems thinking, and product strategy to create solutions that:
- clarify complex workflows
- scale across platforms and teams
- reduce cognitive load
- support real-world decision making
- align stakeholders around shared understanding
I'm comfortable working from ambiguity to structure — mapping problems, defining patterns, and shaping product architecture that supports long-term growth.
Teaching
I teach design as a business discipline — connecting industry best practices, design systems, and typographic foundations to real-world product development.
Designing a Scalable Workflow for Global Support Operations
Project details anonymized for confidentiality
Context
A global customer operations team needed a more efficient way to manage service workflows across multiple regions, tools, and data sources. The existing experience was fragmented, inconsistent, and difficult to scale.
The Challenge
Agents were navigating complex workflows with unclear pathways, redundant steps, and limited visibility. The product needed a system-level redesign — not just new screens — to support global operations and reduce friction.
My Role
As lead product designer, I was responsible for:
- translating business requirements into scalable UX workflows
- defining the product architecture and interaction models
- partnering with product managers, architects, and engineers
- facilitating alignment across global stakeholders
- prototyping and validating new service models
Process
- Mapped the end-to-end service journey
- Defined a unified workflow model
- Designed scalable UX patterns
- Prototyped and tested with agents
Outcome
The redesigned workflow improved efficiency, reduced cognitive load, and created a more consistent experience across global support teams. It also provided a scalable foundation for future service initiatives and product expansion.
